Subs: Rudd, Gill, Hughes, Spillane, McVeigh, Johnson. Hi Saints,
But veteran defender Graeme Murty will struggle to play again this season after ankle surgery this week. Let's see what the Saints can do against, top leaders of league 1 and unbeaten in eleven matches Norwich, in front of a full house. This is the first time that Jon Otsemobor is to play against his old team, let's hope he pulls a good performance. I'm quite surprised that Antonio and Papa Waigo haven't started and are being left on the bench. This must be what A.Pardew meant when he said that the best eleven are to start in each match, meaning he's now spoilt with player choices. Kick off - Today we are playing a 4-4-2 formation, with Lee Barnard upfront with Rickie Lambert from the start. We are 18 points below the playoff positions and really need to push for a win to keep the dream alive. The team is just settling down after 10mins and is playing quite good so far after some descent playing from Norwich pushing on. We start playing now ourselves and R.Lambert strikes the ball over the cross bar on the 15min and misses a good ball. We are playing good at the moment and are not leaving the Canaries to cause us trouble. Puncheon misses a golden opportunity when he misses from the left hand side in a strike that goes wide. The commentator is saying that you must admit that we are probably seeing 2 of the best teams in the league playing some good football. Barnard gives a super header after a good pass from Lallana and Foster is forced to make a good save to keep the score level. Lee Barnard has started a good match so far and has been running and chasing every ball tirelessly. We are worrying Norwich's defenders at the moment and have a good spell so far. On the 32 min R.Lambert gives another super free kick from the left hand side. The ball hits the cross bar and lee Barnard heads the rebound in the net, to score his first Saints goal!! COYR 0-1 At the moment I can't recall that K.Davis has to do any special saves at the moment. Then R.Lambert gets fouled in the box and we cry for a penalty and nothing is given.
First Half - Well done A.Pardew must surely be the happiest from both coaches and proud from all of the departments in the team so far. Second Half - No changes made by the Saints and that shows that everyone has done their job till now. I must remind myself that no one has beaten Norwich at Carrow Road this season except Colchester on the opening day of the season, that disastrous 1-7 game, so, winning here is proving how strong a team really is. Now, we need to show Norwich how mentally strong the team is and keep our lead now and win this game. Then the ball is played to Puncheon were he nearly put's the Saints two nil up when he has a good run and ends up alone against Forster on the 50min. We need to score that important second ball which has been tormenting us for such a long time and take the sting out of Norwich. The ref has done some decisions that have been misjudged towards the Saints part and the Canaries are getting a bit tense now. Now, the ref. with a high boot offence has given a red card to Doherty of Norwich on Morgan Schneiderlin. So, now we are playing against 10 men Norwich. 65min let's hope that this doesn't spark some effort back into Norwich's team. The Saints are exploiting the space that the Norwich defenders are leaving to help the attack up front. We are still looking for that second ball which would settle the game with less than 19mins to go for the final whistle. Hammond and Fonte are playing quite good at the back and are feeding Harding with good stolen balls. A.Lallana hit's the post with a very good ball up front, and then with another good ball from a Lambert pass Lallana hit's the same post and in less than a 1min. Puncheon runs along pulling a couple of defenders with him and then does a clinical pass over to Lee Barnard were he doesn't fail and scores his second and the party's on. 0-2 well done Barnard... He has been in exceptional today. No offence but I reckon that today Barnard has played better then Rickie, 10mins to go and the Saints supporters are loving it marching and singing on. COYR!! 83mins and we are going to win a massive game, Norwich haven't played against such a strong opposition lately and don't know what has hit them.
Then the 'crazy' ref has given 6mins of extra time! From where?? No problem thou the Saints hold on to their grip and continue to push forward, Barnard was hungry today and nearly got a hattrick :^) Norwich have never really bothered Super Kelvin today and our game plan has worked. Good job A.Pardew and well done to the team. We won on the road and haven't conceived any. Fantastic, we have won an important game at a very difficult ground we are just the second team to do that this season. Now, we need a good run which is possible for the team to perform and push for those plays off positions to get out of this league on our first try!! Victor |
